PTCO Funding 2021-2022

Thank you to everyone who has donated to the WMS PTCO this year. We continue to support our wonderful school in so many ways and it’s all thanks to your generous donations!

This school year, we have funded programs totaling $131,694.15! WOW!

Most of our funds were used in the classroom, whether to fund teacher grants, provide enrichment support or assist with support staff salaries. We were also able to celebrate our WMS staff throughout the year.

Teacher grants - $59,512.17

Due to your incredible generosity, we have provided many teachers/staff members with funds to help enrich our classrooms and provide new learning opportunities for our students. From art to special education, to band/orchestra, to the library, as well as core classrooms, teachers and staff have incorporated many new learning tools and enrichment activities to engage students and support their learning. Through the PTCO grant process that is possible because of the PTCO fundraising efforts and your generosity, we have purchased items such as graphing calculators, rock wall climbing equipment, flexible seating options for classrooms, a new sound system for outside events, performance platforms for drama, new keyboards for the technology lab, various art supplies, novel sets for literature circles, electronic balances for science, sound systems for the band, choir and orchestra rooms, iPads for WMS security, and innovative technology learning applications.

School Support - $29,006.50

This encompasses grade specific activities, character development, kindness awards, counseling, elective enrichment, math competitions, the media center, technology licenses, student planners, the spelling bee, student enrichment programs and summer reading books.

Support Staff Salaries - $30,000

PTCO funds have been used to fill the salary gaps for our amazing support staff at WMS.

School Spirit and Student Council - $3,725.95

School Spirit includes our West Fest carnival at the beginning of the school year (in the fall). Student council is a group of students elected by their classmates to organize activities and address student concerns and interests.

Subscriptions, Dues and Admin - $2,394.67

This covers all the costs involved in maintaining the PTCO as a non-profit organization.

Hospitality - $6,169.86

This covered our entire years’ activities for our wonderful WMS staff. This included, fall and winter conference dinners, holiday luncheon, Veterans Day celebration and teacher appreciation week.

Our heartfelt thanks to you all. We couldn’t have done this without you!

Best Regards,

The WMS PTCO Executive Board
